The purpose of Open Door Baptist Missions is to promote the work of Christ in regions that have been closed to the Gospel or that presently have little or no Gospel witness. We strive to accomplish this task while the Lord has set before us an open door. (Revelation 3:8)
This is done through the collective support of local churches. We stand ready to help fundamental, Bible-believing churches place their missionary candidates on the field of God’s call.
It is our desire to give the Gospel to those who have never heard. We endeavor to partner with those who are already laboring in the harvest fields and help train those who will be the leaders of tomorrow.
Monthly Missionary Updates
► Dan & Edna Cadavos have led teams to conduct their 4th & 5th trips to minister to those on the Philippine islands devastated by Typhoon Yolanda. These teams have helped the needy, held evangelistic services, encouraged believers, and helped to rebuild church buildings. Many have professed faith in Christ. Those serving on the teams have also been impacted and have grown spiritually.
► Eric & Cathy Chapman continue to teach believers in Lithuania to grow in Christ’s likeness, equipping them to tell others about the Lord. Children often prepare the way for adults to be able to share the Gospel. One year-old Dovydas handed a lady a Bible verse from his mother’s purse. His mother, the wife of a national church leader, then shared the Gospel with the lady and handed her a tract.
From the Director
“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain.” (John 15:16) The Lord Jesus Christ chose the disciples and ordained them to be His servants to raise up believers and build His Church. Their fruit would be to make disciples of Christ who will remain faithful. This was the job that Chris and I were sent to do in France, the Netherlands, and Lithuania, while David Smith visited mission fields in the Philippines and Papua New Guinea. We were there to not only encourage the missionaries and the believers but to also remind them that every soul that they lead to the Lord will bring hope and eternal glory. Let’s not forget what Proverbs 11:30 tells us, “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.”
