The purpose of Open Door Baptist Missions is to promote the work of Christ in regions that have been closed to the gospel or that presently have little or no gospel witness. We strive to accomplish this task while the Lord has set before us an open door (Revelation 3:8). This is done through the collective support of local churches.
We stand ready to help fundamental, Bible-believing churches place their missionary candidates on the field of God’s call. It is our desire to give the Gospel to those who have never heard.
We endeavor to partner with those who are already laboring in the harvest fields and help train those who will be the leaders of tomorrow.
Monthly Missionary Updates
►The Lord continues to give growth and blessing in Mexico. Alvin & Sharon Weiss praise the Lord for two who were saved in June. In August their schedule includes youth camp, registration in their Christian School, and the beginning of a new school year. Additionally there are seven church-plants, a sister church that has graduated from church plant status, and a Children’s Home under their church’s ministry.
►The 2016 theme for Ryan & Jennifer Horkavy’s church plant in Arizona is the “Supremacy of Christ, worthy of our glory, worship, honor, & praise.” They thank the Lord for ten souls saved during VBS, decisions made during summer camp, improved health for Jennifer, and God’s provision of a scholarship for Ryan to continue graduate school. Pray for the continued construction of the church building.
From the Director
Throughout the New Testament, the early Church gave generously to meet the needs of others and to support those in the Gospel ministry. Paul taught that giving is a result of spiritual growth and a key ingredient of biblical worship. As missionaries make disciples, teaching national believers to give is vital to planting indigenous churches. While impoverished believers strive to survive one day to the next, they too must surrender to Christ. As they first give of themselves, they will also cheerfully give of their rice, their sweet potatoes, their time, and their money to worship and serve their Savior. Time and time again, Christ blesses national giving to strengthen and grow His Church. As local believers give they are well on their way of taking ownership, leading, and reproducing. As you pray for missions, pray for national believers to give!
