The purpose of Open Door Baptist Missions is to promote the work of Christ in regions that have been closed to the gospel or that presently have little or no gospel witness. We strive to accomplish this task while the Lord has set before us an open door (Revelation 3:8). This is done through the collective support of local churches.
We stand ready to help fundamental, Bible-believing churches place their missionary candidates on the field of God’s call. It is our desire to give the Gospel to those who have never heard.
We endeavor to partner with those who are already laboring in the harvest fields and help train those who will be the leaders of tomorrow.
Monthly Missionary Updates
►The Lord is leading Elena Caballero to a short-term ministry to the deaf in Guatemala. She will be encouraging teachers and helping an inexperienced teacher with great potential, to gain confidence and training. Elena is also surveying other opportunities for ministry in El Salvador. Pray for Elena for safety, for wisdom, for effectiveness as she serves, and for God’s leading regarding long-term ministry.
►Dan & Edna Cadavos are asking for prayer as Edna is being treated for bone cancer in the Philippines. They sense the Lord’s comforting presence. A number of souls have received salvation, and church members are taking on extra responsibilities. Please pray for healing, for wisdom, for a clear testimony of trusting in the Lord, and for her family in the US that are far away at this needy time.
From the Director
When followers of Christ are faithful in making new disciples, churches are planted and the Gospel is spread worldwide. Persecution forced the early believers to flee Jerusalem to surrounding areas. (Acts 8:1-4) They preached the Gospel and made disciples everywhere they went. That pattern continued throughout the New Testament resulting in churches planted throughout the known world. Christ is building His Church today in the same way. Twenty young disciples of Christ recently surrendered to being missionaries in Myanmar. They will be joining other national missionaries to preach the Gospel and plant churches in remote villages. Whunga Baptist Church was just formed in a remote village in Zimbabwe where two African brothers have endured hardness and preached the Gospel for years. God has blessed their tenacity with nine new members being baptized into the infant church. As we faithfully make disciples at home and partner with laborers around the world, Christ is glorified!
