The purpose of Open Door Baptist Missions is to promote the work of Christ in regions that have been closed to the gospel or that presently have little or no gospel witness. We strive to accomplish this task while the Lord has set before us an open door (Revelation 3:8). This is done through the collective support of local churches.
We stand ready to help fundamental, Bible-believing churches place their missionary candidates on the field of God’s call. It is our desire to give the Gospel to those who have never heard.
We endeavor to partner with those who are already laboring in the harvest fields and help train those who will be the leaders of tomorrow.
Monthly Missionary Updates
► We thank the Lord for His protection over Seth & Amy Meyers and their children in South Africa. Recently, their home was violently invaded at night by 3 thugs. Seth and Amy were both beaten, as their children watched. Praise the Lord that their lives and honor were spared. Pray for their emotional, physical and spiritual recovery. For details see Amy’s blog: http://itavitaafrican.wordpress.com/
► Paul & Melinda Schlehlein are dear friends and teammates of the Meyers in South Africa. They are not frightened and feel safe in nearby Mbhokota. In December, their church was broken into and several items were stolen, including Bibles. Two of their neighbors were also robbed. They praise the Lord for the healthy delivery of their 5th child, Julianna Michelle. Pray for fruit from village evangelism.
From the Director
Now that Thanksgiving and Christmas are behind us there is no reason to stop praising and thanking our Lord for His faithfulness in providing us with our daily provisions. More importantly, we must also remember the awesome event that took place over 2000 years ago, when the angel Gabriel announced the birth of our Savior. As we face many uncertainties in the world around us, we must remember that God is still in control and all that happens is part of His plan. Let us not be discouraged nor forget the wonderful news which we have just celebrated; that our Savior came to save men from their sins and give an eternal, secured hope for all mankind. Remember we are pilgrims traveling through to our eternal home in heaven. I Cor. 15:58
