The purpose of Open Door Baptist Missions is to promote the work of Christ in regions that have been closed to the Gospel or that presently have little or no Gospel witness. We strive to accomplish this task while the Lord has set before us an open door. (Revelation 3:8)
This is done through the collective support of local churches. We stand ready to help fundamental, Bible-believing churches place their missionary candidates on the field of God’s call.
It is our desire to give the Gospel to those who have never heard. We endeavor to partner with those who are already laboring in the harvest fields and help train those who will be the leaders of tomorrow.
Monthly Missionary Updates
► Michael & Lisa Miller desire that the people in their church in Canada understand how to interpret, apply, and communicate the Bible effectively. Lisa continues to pursue a gospel-relationship with a Chinese lady. Pray that the Lord would soften her heart and help her to understand what Lisa shares with her about our Lord. They request prayer for the approval of their permanent residency request.
► Seth & Amy Meyers praise the Lord for the spiritual growth that they have seen in their church in South Africa over the past eight years. The Bible says much about the value of work. In order for this church to continue to grow and sustain itself it is necessary for the men of the church to obtain honest work that will support a family. “Jobs are crucial to a mature church because of the character they instill and require.”
From the Director
Psalm 50:23 says this, “Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me; and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God.” Last week in Sunday school, I challenged our class to do something similar to what I started two years ago. Just before Thanksgiving in 2012, I reflected on the many blessings that God had provided me with and wrote them down on a sheet of paper that I held until Thanksgiving Day. On that day, I shared at the table the blessings I had received and asked others to share theirs. We must not neglect to be thankful for the blessings that God has given us each year because we are a forgetful people. We glorify God by remembering and sharing His blessings with others. Will you also take the challenge this year?
